I don’t expect my body to drop a lot of weight or see significant changes. I started with my weight at 140 pounds and now I am currently at 137.2 pounds. I was excited and I knew that relieving that pressure and focusing on the current Rach was the big turning point. That is why after week 2, I shared my body progress.
Noticing the TransformationĪfter week 2, I felt amazing! I could see my body tone up and I just felt strong. As long as I am moving and doing each exercise within that 7 minute circuit, I was satisfied. I really just focused on what I can do versus trying to do each circuit as fast as I can. It is crazy how changing my mindset resulted in seeing a change in my body. I’m proud to say I completed my 4 weeks of pre-training and have never felt better. I wanted to be sure I ease into it versus rushing into it. I started my BBG fitness by doing the 4 weeks of pre-training. I knew once I threw away that pressure, that I was ready to give BBG a try again. The pressure and comparison from the old me to the current me prevented me from being present and acknowledging my strength. I threw out the pressure of trying to be the old me and just enjoyed and embraced what I can currently do. It wasn’t until the end of last year I learned to appreciate my body again. You heard that right, I started my BBG fitness a year ago and saw no results! I would look at all the ladies who went through the BBG program (seriously, have you seen the transformations?!) and they all look incredible. Instead, my long-term side effects didn’t seem to be getting better, I was constantly stressed, and my anxiety was not getting any better. I followed the BBG Program and ate right. I was frustrated because I thought I was doing everything right. Last Fall (2016), I attempted to get my body back, but failed miserably. And of course, hearing that post-menopausal women have a higher risk of reoccurrence, the worry just never stopped about my body. My body is forced to be in menopause (and I’m not even 30 yet) and one of the (millions) side effects of hormone therapy and blood pressure meds is weight gain. In addition to those changes, my current treatment plan has caused me to put on weight. I honestly couldn’t recognize my body and it made me so sad that I didn’t know my own body. Treatments have changed the body that I recognized.
Unfortunately, after chemo and surgeries, it was hard to love my body.
Pre-cancer, I always embraced my body and loved every part of me. My main reason why I really want to focus on my fitness is because I want to gain back the body that cancer treatments took away from me.
